Build Self-confidence Through Self-awareness

Intuitively you know that self-confidence is a desired trait to possess. You may have heard the words, “you just need to develop some self-confidence” directed at you when you were younger, so you equated self-confidence with success, a noble goal to achieve. Somewhere along the way, however, you got distracted. Merriam-Webster defines self-confidence as:  confidence in one’s self and one’s abilities.

Feelings and expressions are two most important parts of life. Without feelings there is no reason for a human to exist; and without expressions there is no chance of human to exist. Anger is an important phenomenon of this feelings and expressions aspect.

Whenever something bad happens to someone, she irritates and the response is like anger. There is some bad kind of feelings due to some incident and the output is in the form of anger. Anger is natural. That seems quite interesting to some people, but that’s the truth. Anger is an integral part of human being which can’t be neglected like other emotions. As long as, a human can feel the things around, there is always a chance to feel something bad and then burst into anger.

The causes of the anger may be the internal or external. Sometimes, someone’s own thoughts can make her feel bad and she can get angry. This is the internal cause of the anger. While some other times, the causes are external like the rush-hour traffic or something like that. The internal causes may be like some biasness or prejudice etc. Or sometimes it is like having a wrong image of something in the mind, which irritates one’s feelings and hence make her feel angry. The external causes occur in the environment like if someone abuses or hits or something.

Anger is not always negative. It is an important way to express one’s irritable feelings. But it should be in a moderate way. Whenever someone is angry, she must not burst out all at once, rather she needs to take control over herself and release all the anger in some proper way, so it doesn’t hurt feelings of anyone else. Anger is supposed to be released in some proper fashion otherwise it can be harmful for the person. But it is considered more important if one doesn’t become angry at all in the first place.

Anger can be avoided by an individual. No matter, whether it is caused by some internal reason or something external. Most of the times internal causes are under one’s control, but external are not. Nevertheless, one can protect oneself against external causes with a proactive approach. And as far as, internal causes are concerned they can be overcome by a slight change in one’s behavior and thinking pattern. There are different techniques for anger management, which are easy to understand and follow. I’ll discuss them in detail in later articles.
